A remote / home user, for example, may require simple inbound and outbound calls via a single device / handset: in this case configure a 'SIP Client' SIP account'.

(a) via 'SIP Accounts' > 'SIP Clients' press 'Add SIP client' (you'll need, of course, one spare DDI in order to set this up)

(b) once saved, credentials will be emailed to the email address stated on the client 'Options' page

(c) these credentials should then be programmed directly into the handset as shown in the example below for a Yealink T22P handset:

(d) note that the 'Outbound Proxy Server' should be enabled and set to 'sip.sip-trunking-services.com'

(e) the 'Server Host' / Domain should be set to the 'SIP Domain' field stated on the reseller 'Options' page - this may also be 'sip.sip-trunking-services.com' but instead may also be a DNS record of your own creation: these fields must match in order for the 'SIP Client' SIP account / trunk to register and function

(f) of course, the 'Register Name / 'User Name' should in the normal way be set to the trunk SIP ID main headline number, with the 'Password' set to be the SIP account password sent to the email address stated on the client 'Options' page.

(g) finally, we recommend best practise by setting a short registration timeout trunk setting to make best use of our auto-failover facility so we recommend that you set the ‘registration expiry timeout’ setting (shown as 'Server Expires' above) to be equal to 5 minutes (300 seconds) on both on the trunk and for good measure on all end devices also via your phone system’s device profiles / device settings.
